Windows Mail

This lesson explains how to configure your Hover email in Windows Mail using IMAP.

Click on the Tools menu and select Accounts.

Click on Add.

Select E-mail Account and click Next.

Type in your name and click Next.

Type in your Hover email address and click Next again.

Enter the following settings:

1. Incoming e-mail server type: Select IMAP
2. Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server: mail.hover.com
3. Outgoing e-mail server (SMTP) name: mail.hover.com
4. Put a check next to "Outgoing server requires authentication."

Click Next.

Enter your full email address as your username and type in your Hover email password and then click Next.

Click Finish.

Select your Hover email account and click on Properties.

Make the following changes to your settings in this order:

1. Put a check next to "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" under Outgoing mail (SMTP).
2. Put a check next to "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" under Incoming mail (IMAP).
3. Change the outgoing mail (SMTP) port from 25 to 465.

Click Apply and click OK.

Click Close at the bottom of Internet Accounts.

Windows Mail will automatically feltch all messages and folders for your Hover IMAP account.
