Windows Mail

This lesson explains how to configure your Hover email in Windows Mail using POP3.

Click on the Tools menu and select Accounts.

Click on Add.

Select E-mail Account and click Next.

Type in your name and click Next.

Type in your Hover email address and click Next again.

Enter the following settings:

1. Incoming e-mail server type: Select POP3
2. Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server: mail.hover.com
3. Outgoing e-mail server (SMTP) name: mail.hover.com
4. Put a check next to "Outgoing server requires authentication."

Click Next.

Put a check next to "Do not download my e-mail at this time" and click Finish.

Select your Hover email account and click on Properties.

Make the following changes to your settings in this order:

1. Put a check next to "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" under Outgoing mail (SMTP).
2. Put a check next to "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" under Incoming mail (POP3).
3. Change the outgoing mail (SMTP) port from 25 to 465.
4. In the Delivery section, it is recommended to put checks next to "Leave a copy of messages on server" and "Remove from server when deleted from 'Deleted Items'" so that your messages can be downloaded to other computers in the future.

Click Apply and click OK.

Click Close at the bottom of the Internet Accounts window.

Click on the Send/Receive button to start downloading your email.

If prompted, re-enter your Hover email address and password then click OK.

Windows Mail should now begin downloading your email messages.
