Tips for using www.hover.com
Blackberry
The steps below can be used to set up hover email on your Blackberry. Please note that you can choose POP3 or IMAP when configuring hover email. Screenshots of these steps will be added at a later date.
This tutorial was created using a Blackberry 9800 smartphone 3G running OS version 6.0.0.141. If you are using different hardware or a different OS version, these instructions may differ.
From your home screen, scroll down and tap Setup.
Tap Email Accounts.
Tap Internet Mail Account.
If you have existing accounts, you will see this screen (skip this step if you have no existing accounts):
Tap Set up another email account.
Tap Other.
Enter your Hover email address and password then tap Continue.
A processing message will be displayed on your screen.
Tap Change Settings.
Scroll down and tap on Advanced Options.
The following settings need to be edited:
Email Server: mail.hover.com
Use SSL: Optional. You can check this option if you want SSL. SSL should work from most connections. The port number will automatically change from 110 to 995 if you select SSL.
Tap Save.
You may receive the following error if SSL will not work from your connection:
If you get the error message above, then you should try with SSL disabled. Tap OK and open Advanced Options again.
Change your email server to mail.hover.com but leave SSL unchecked and then tap Save.
Enter your email password to validate your changes and tap OK.
The account has been configured! Tap on Return to Setup.
