Hover is all about making it easier to connect your domain name to the websites you are already using.
For example, you can provide a personal URL like http://bevis.barber.net instead of http://ca.linkedin.com/pub/bevis-barber/18/576/946.
This lesson shows you how to quickly and easily create domain forwards that you can share with your friends and colleagues.
In the screenshot above you'll see a website on snow shoveling that I am going to redirect to in this tutorial.
I'll start by copying the address of the website from the browser address bar. In the screenshot above, I right-clicked my mouse to highlight and copy the website address.
In the Hover account, select the List of Domains tab then click on the domain name to be used with forwarding.
Select the Manage Forwards tab then click on the plus next to Create A New Hover.
Enter a name for the Hover and then type the destination address in the Original Address field. Click Save.
Select the "Make this Hover a subdomain" option if you want the Hover to be a subdomain. In this example, I'm creating http://awesomesnowremoval.com/hazards. The subdomain option would create my hover as http://hazards.awesomesnowremoval.com.
The new domain forward has been created.
Stealth redirection will mask your domain's destination (or forward to) address.
Click the plus sign next to Hover Preferences to change the stealth setting.
Put a check next to Enable stealth redirection then click on Save.
http://awesomesnowremoval.com/hazards now works as a stealth redirection.

Nice job on the create a hover tutorial. I like the easy step by step way you go through the process.
This was a mystery, now it is revealed!

OK, I think I get it. However, this set of tutorials is an example of one of my pet peeves with documentation found on the web (and in print to a lesser degree). The tutorials (or whatever) have, How To Install, How To Add, How To Delete, How To Edit, How To Uninstall, Making It A Toolbar, etc. It is all important information, but...
what's missing is, "What is a Hover, and why would I want to use it."
Thanks for your great feedback Tom!
A new article has been created in the Hovers manual called "Introducing Hovers."
I hope this new tutorial answers what a Hover is and why you would want to use Hovers.
Thanks again for your suggestion!
