Introducing Hovers (URL Forwards)
If you are wondering what a Hover is and what Hovers can do for you then you've come to the right place! This tutorial will introduce you to the concept of Hovers and show you how Hovers can be used to redirect your domain name to multiple websites using short, personalized web addresses.
We'll Start With an Example
You can use Hovers to redirect one domain name to several different web pages, and to convert long, complicated URLs into short, personalized web addresses. Hovers will also allow you to create sub domain redirections.
For example, rather than sending someone a URL that looks like this:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=kksy5dDKOzQ
You can send them a URL like this:
http://awesomelawncare.com/tips
or
http://tips.awesomelawncare.com

As you can see from the two screenshots above, both addresses go to the same YouTube video.
Awesomelawncare.com/tips is certainly a lot easier to remember than http://youtube.com/watch?v=kksy5dDKOzQ!
Managing Your Hovers
In the screenshot above you can see the "tips" Hover being edited under the Manage Forwards tab in the Hover account.. Creating and editing Hovers is simple and easy to do!
To Stealth or Not to Stealth
Remember how "http://awesomelawncare.com/tips" remained in the address bar after redirecting to the YouTube video? This is an optional feature called stealth redirection.
When the stealth redirections are enabled http://awesomelawncare.com/tips will stay in the browser address bar after redirecting to the YouTube video. If we turn off stealth redirection, http://awesomelawncare.com/tips will redirect to the YouTube video then http://youtube.com/watch?v=kksy5dDKOzQ will display in the address bar.
Display My Hovers
If you have your home page in your Hover Preferences configured to display your Hovers then your domain name can be used to access all of your Hovers just like bookmarks, and they can be accessed by any computer!

Hovers as Subdomains
A Hover can also be configured as a subdomain, as show above.
http://tips.awesomelawncare.com/
This screenshot shows the same Hover with the subdomain option enabled. The address has been changed from http://awesomelawncare.com/tips to http://tips.awesomelawncare.com.
