Email filters are a great way to redirect email based on the From, Subject, To, or CC fields. For example, you might have all email from specific senders directed into their own folders to help organize and sort your email. This lesson provides an overview of filters.
Please note that filters are not applied to spam email.
To set up a filter use the following steps:
1. Click on Mail under the Settings category.
2. Click on the Filters tab.
3. Click on Add New Filter.
The Add New Filter section allows you to use the following conditions from the drop down menus:
From
Subject
To
Cc
To or Cc
contains
doesn't contain
matches
doesn't match
Messages that match the defined condition can be forwarded to another address and deleted, moved to another folder in webmail, or deleted.
In the example above I've created a filter that will forward a copy of any email messages from bevis@barber.net to hr@awesomelawncare.com then delete the email.
The new filter now appears in the existing filter list.
